You need to be skillful to use words that accompany this character. When takumi is a noun, it can be skill, efforts to make something look good, or attempts to deceive others.

Takumi is also an adjectival noun, which is known as a na-adjective. When you put –na, it modifies nouns related to artisans or art. When it is attached to a copula such as da and ni, it inflects.

  • Takumida always comes at the end of sentences that express that somebody is good at something or one’s skill is good.
  • Takumini means skillfully.

The Order of Writing Strokes

  1. First, write the left-hand side of the character. Write the horizontal stroke.
  2. Write the vertical stroke.
  3. Write the sweeping stroke rising rightward.
  4. Begin to write the right-hand side. Write the horizontal stroke.
  5. Write the hook with a stroke attaching to the previous stroke. Finish the stroke with an upward turn.
