Look at the above menu. Can you see “kun’yomi and on’yomi” there? The kun of kun’yomi is today’s character and it means one of Japanese readings.
Another meaning of this character is a precept. We have words such as kyōkun (a precept) and kunkoku (a warning).
- Write the dot on the top.
- Write the horizontal stroke below it.
- Write the shorter horizontal stroke below it.
- Write the horizontal stroke below it.
- Write the left side of the rectangle.
- Write the upper and right sides of the rectangle.
- Write the lower side of the rectangle.
- Begin to write the right-hand side of the character. Write the sweeping stroke.
