o-kiru, o-kosu, o-koru, ki
The character depicts a person kneeling is ready to stand up. The verb okiru is used when somebody gets up or when something happens. The verb okosu means to wake somebody up or to make something happen. We use the verb okoru when something happens.
- Write the upper horizontal stroke in the upper left corner of the character.
- Write the vertical stroke crossing the previous stroke.
- Write the horizontal stroke touching the end of the previous stroke.
- Write the vertical stroke from the middle of the previous stroke.
- Write the short horizontal stroke from the middle of the previous stroke.
- Write the shorter sweeping stroke falling leftward.
- Write the longer sweeping stroke falling rightward.
- Write the hook.
- Write the horizontal stroke.
- Write the curve with an upward turn.
